An extravaganza of races will take place in June 2022, in Rochester, NY. These are:
- USATF Masters Mile Championship (women and men)
- Rochester Mile Professional race (women and men)
- Rochester Mile Amateur race (women, men, and youth)
These races are part of a thrilling event featuring the USA Cycling Rochester Twilight Criterium. The USATF Masters Mile Championship race will occur along a barricaded one-mile loop course through the heart of Rochester just like the Criterium cyclists and pro runners. Masters men and women will compete in separate heats with awards to the top male and female finishers in each age group, age-group teams, overall race winners, and the top age-graded athletes. This will be the inaugural year hosting the championships with master’s course records up for grabs!
After the masters championship races, the highlights of the evening will occur with the professional women’s and men’s one-mile races and the pro cyclists. The pro racers will be competing for $2500 purses. So after you’ve run your heart out, sit back and watch some of the fastest runners in the Northeast compete on the streets of the City of Rochester!
Those racers that aren’t masters or professionals can still toe the line and race for a personal record or just for fun! These runners will start behind the professionals, racing the same course and for their own glory!
Please note that there are two registration options depending on your race. The race entry fees for all races until TBD are $20.00, with race registration after that date $25.00.
For the USATF Masters Mile Championship you must be 40 years old or above on race day and have a valid USATF membership; club affiliation is not required.

The one-mile loop course is USATF certified (NY171160KL). Starting and finishing on Court Street, racers run in a clockwise circuit, crossing the majestic Genesee River twice: first across the Court Street Bridge within the first 400 m and again over the Broad Street Bridge around the three-quarter mark. The first 400 m has a slight downhill grade and will be fast, followed with a flat but turning (four nearly right angle turns) 400-800 m, slight uphill from 800-1000 m over the Broad Street Bridge, and then a relatively flat 600 m with another four turns to hammer home. The finish is roughly 100 m past the start line (please note that the start line is not the finish line). The course is wide and fairly smooth for a city street with barricades along most of its length and markers at set intervals
