Harriers Race to the Platform at National Masters 8K in VA Beach

On March 18, 2017, several Genesee Valley Harriers had exceptional race times at the National Masters 8K Championships in Virginia Beach.

Jim May won the men’s 70-74 division by 13 seconds with a time of 35:01 (81.82% age graded score). John Van Kerkhove came in first in the men’s 55-59 division (29:06, 85.74%). In Teams 50+(Men), GVH (Nier, Flanders, J. Van Kerkhove) came in second.

In the women’s 45-49 division Melissa Senall came in third (33:58, 75.56%). Kathleen Hayden came in second in the women’s 50-54 division (32:04, 85.40%). In the women’s 65-69 division Cindy Ingalls came in third (41:34, 78.75%). In Teams 50+ (Women), GVH (Hayden, C. Bischoff, M. Bischoff) came in third. In Teams 60+(Women), GVH (Moore, Ingalls, Herrick) also came in third place.

In all, GVH was superbly represented by 22 runners: Mike Nier, Dale Flanders, John Van Kerkhove, Timothy Riccardi, Dave Bischoff, Mike Sayers, Gary Radford, Kevin Clinefelter, Bill Beyerbach, Mitch Moore, Coach Mike Reif, Gary Sterber, Jim May, Melissa Senall, Kathleen Hayden, Carol Bishoff, Maureen Bischoff, Gail Geiger, Colleen Magnussen, Sharon Moore, Cindy Ingalls, and Jeanne Herrick.
